Filth she spat glaring up at the canopy that sheltered her. The sun sent the rays it could to the forest floor. Nothing complimented the silence that followed but a few twitters of birds nearby.
The lemur bit into the red fruit and swallowed her pieces whole. The female paused, the ripe fruit still in her paws, and snarled with bitterness. She clutched the branch she was on more tightly, her hind fingertips almost digging into the mossy bark. She sunk her muzzle back into the fruit, sending juices sliding down her breast.
The lemur had been thinking back to the fight she had lost near the waterfall. She had come across a pair of wild loners. They snapped and called her inappropriate names. Of course, being defensive, she had leapt at them with teeth bared and all. Though the loners proved to be a match. They gleefully attacked back, laughing as they did. The female was outnumbered so she ran for it, with a deep cut on her right shoulder as memory.
But now the lemur was safely far away and up a tree. The cut stung like a mother but it could of been quite worse eh? She finished the last of her snack and began to lick her fingers. Her long toungue then slid across her black muzzle.
Suddenly her ears swivled foreward. Her bright amber eyes narrowed as they tried to peer past the thick foilage. If it was those youngsters again she would have them. There was a snap of a twig and a rustle of leaves. Show yourself! she snapped hotly.
